Stroke modes
Set the stroke mode in the Tool tab’s Stroke section.
| Mode | How it works | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Freehand | The brush follows the pointer while the button is held. | Most sculpting |
| Drag | Press on the surface and drag: one dab, sized by how far you drag and turned towards the drag. | Placing one stamp or alpha exactly: a rivet, a scale, a scar |
| Curve | Draw a path, then the whole path is sculpted as one stroke. | Long even creases, seams, wrinkles and grooves |
- Curve strokes are applied in one go, so creases come out even along their length, with no beading where a freehand stroke would slow down.
- Combine Drag with the surface alphas to place pores, rivets and stitches one at a time.
- Lazy mouse (in the same section) steadies Freehand strokes.
