Exporting to your slicer
| Slicer | Export | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Cura | STL | Opens at real size, Z up |
| PrusaSlicer | STL, or 3MF for separate objects | Colours may not come across: set each object’s extruder |
| Bambu Studio | STL, or 3MF for colour | Asks which AMS slot each colour goes on |
| OrcaSlicer | STL, or 3MF for separate objects | Colours may not come across: set each object’s filament |
| Resin slicers (Chitubox, Lychee) | STL | Hollow with a drain hole first |
STL and 3MF are written in millimetres at real size. To print at another size, set an export height before exporting; 0 means real size. The status bar shows the model’s size at all times.
Orientation
Section titled “Orientation”STL is written Z up, the way slicers expect. 3MF is placed on the build plate.
Several parts
Section titled “Several parts”Choose Each object when exporting to write one STL per part, named after the objects.
For multi-colour printing, export one 3MF with everything in it instead, so all the parts share one set of filaments. See Opening your 3MF in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer.
