Setting up a drawing tablet
Shapeaway reads pen pressure through Windows Ink, which almost every pen tablet and pen display supports.
What the pen does
Section titled “What the pen does”| Pen | Does |
|---|---|
| Tip | Sculpts. Pressure sets the size and strength. |
| Eraser end | Inverts the tool, like holding Ctrl |
| Lower barrel button | Orbit |
| Upper barrel button | Pan |
Pressure
Section titled “Pressure”Pressure always sets strength. Press P to switch whether it sets size as well.
The pressure curve (Tool tab › Pen) shapes the response: a curve that rises early makes light strokes count; one that rises late keeps light strokes subtle. One curve can be shared by every tool, or each tool can have its own.
If there’s no pressure
Section titled “If there’s no pressure”If the status bar says Mouse (no pressure) while you draw with the pen:
- Open your tablet’s driver settings.
- Turn on Use Windows Ink for Shapeaway or for all apps.
- Restart Shapeaway.
