Combining objects

Join objects into the selected object with one of three operations:

Operation Result Example
Merge The two become one piece of clay Fuse an arm onto a body
Subtract The other object is cut out of the selected one Cut a keyhole, hollow a socket
Intersect Only where they overlap remains A shape that fits two silhouettes

The other object is used up and the result keeps the selected object’s look. The whole operation is one undo step.

  • Smooth the seam after a Merge: it’s real clay, so smoothing blends it like any other join.
  • Use a duplicate (Ctrl D) as the cutter if you want to keep the original.
  • Combining works on clay objects; go back to clay first if one has a detail mesh.
